Double Driveway Gates
Custom built double driveway gates
This set of gates was built as per customer specifications.
The goal was to create a large entrance way that could easily fit a large camper van through to facilitate long term storage.
As there was already a large private driveway area to the front, it was decided to have the gates opening outward.
Due to the excess weight of the gates 2 jockey wheels where installed, bracing some of the weight of the gates and stopping movement over time.
Adjustable hinges were fitted, this is a standard fitting for any timber driveway gate and allows adjustment over time to mitigate any movement in the timber.
Finally small sections of panel were added either side of the gate way to tie into the existing fencing.
Picket Gates
Double Leaf Picket (Palisade) Gate
Installed as part of a longer run of picket fencing.
Our customer wanted to break up a large courtyard area to the front of her house. The secondary goal was to create a penned in area for a small dog.
As a standard design one leaf of the gate is held with a drop bolt, whilst the other is not. Allowing a free moving 'pedestrian' access at all times.
All fittings, as standard, are galvanised.
Adjustable hinges were fitted, this is a standard fitting for any timber driveway gate and allows adjustment over time to mitigate any movement in the timber.
Colourfence Gates
Double Leaf Gate
A double leaf set of gates supplied by Colourfence.
In this installation both posts are securely bolted to the walls either side. Posts can also be dug and secured into cement too.
The 2 leafs are un-even sizes by design. The customer wished to secure the alleyway to the side of the house and opted for a smaller 'pedestrian' gate that would be used regularly.
The larger leaf remains in position, secured by a drop bolt. Should the full access width be desired the leaf can easyly be opened. Gates are further secured with a lock and key, accessible from the front or back of the gates.
An outward opening was also requested to avoid the gates fouling on the step.
All colours and trellis options listed here are available with gates also.
Single Leaf (Pedestrian) Gates
Smaller sized gates, usually between 800mm - 1000mm wide and generally used where you only ever expect foot traffic.
Commonly supplied at 1800mm or higher and used to secure side entrances and access to private gardens. Gates are further secured with a lock and key, accessible from the front or back of the gates.
Other security options are available such as padlockable bolts.
All colours and trellis options listed here are available with gates also.
Timber Pedestrian Gates
Smaller entranceways meant for foot traffic only
Smaller sized gates, usually between 800mm - 1000mm wide and generally used where you only ever expect foot traffic.
Commonly supplied at 1800mm or higher and used to secure side entrances and access to private gardens. The full range of normal and security fittings are available with timber gates.
